Maternity & Antenatal care

A service is provided by a specialist team of midwives.

Maternity online self-referral process

King’s Maternity Unit would like to see women as early as possible in their pregnancy so we can plan their care. It is also important that all necessary blood tests are done on time so further tests, if required will not be delayed. This is especially important with sickle cell and thalassaemia screening were an early diagnosis improves early partner testing rates and allows for earlier counselling and pre-natal diagnosis for at risk couples.

You do not have to wait to see a GP before as you can self-refer directly to the service using this link.

Referrals will be sent directly to the antenatal administrators who will respond within 5 working days. They aim to see women for their booking appointment before they are 10 weeks pregnant.
