Welcome to the Paxton Green Patient Participation Group (PGPPG) pages. All patients registered at the Practice are eligible to join the group. Please use the drop-down menu to see future meeting dates, quarterly newsletters and more about us.
In striving to improve the patient experience at Paxton Green, we aim to be representative of the whole Practice population and are encouraging the enrolment of young people, men and ethnic minorities all of whom are currently underrepresented.
We hold regular meetings, but realise that it is often difficult for those with work, family or carer commitments to attend in person; so we vary their timing, and members can also participate by email, telephone or letter. All members receive meeting papers and are thus kept fully informed even if absent.
The PPG is led by an elected steering group (SG) of patients who collaborate with the Practice Managers and a GP partner who also participate in meetings.
In addition, members of the SG represent the Practice in the work of a network of all Lambeth PPGs. This is particularly helpful in informing us about local and national health services and their constraints and challenges and enables us to have realistic expectations and goals.
In the past twelve months the PPG has focused on a wide variety of areas including the Walk and Wait clinic, the 2015 Patient Survey and Self-Care Week 2015. It is working on three priorities for 2015/2016 which are:
- Reducing the number of unattended appointments
- Improving the Practice’s communication with patients
- Promoting patients’ health and wellbeing
