FLU CLINICS 2017

Walk & Wait clinics for flu jabs throughout October (for eligible patients only)

Monday to Friday – 9am to 10am

Saturday morning – 8am to 10.45am


  • Anyone over 65
  • Pregnant women
  • Chronic heart disease
  • Chronic respiratory disease, severe asthma, COPD, bronchitis
  • Chronic renal failure
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Chronic neurological disease, such as, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone
  • Learning disability
  • Diabetes
  • People with weakened immunity due to disease or treatment
  • People without a spleen
  • Carers
  • Anyone in residential care homes
  • Healthcare workers and admin staff
  • Morbidly obese, defined as a BMI 40+


  • Children aged 2 and 3 are eligible for the nasal flu vaccine and can have this at the practice.
  • Other healthy children up to the age of 8 are to have the nasal flu vaccination at school and will not be eligible to have the vaccine at the practice even if they missed the appointment at school.
  • At risk children in all age groups can have the vaccination at the practice, see the chart “Which flu vaccine should children have?” with at risk criteria at the bottom
  • A reminder will be sent to parents via text message as they will be invited in to attend the Saturday walk in clinics only. Not weekday walk ins

Unfortunately, we have 3 GPs off sick, 2 of which are on long-term sick leave. This has significantly reduced GP cover and as a result the waiting times in the Walk and Wait Clinic are likely to be longer than usual.

Carers week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of carers.

The PPG plans to host a drop-event for carers on Wednesday 28th June

Patient Access is only available to patients who are registered with the Practice.

You can view, book and cancel appointments at Paxton Green from home, work or on the move – wherever you can connect to the internet. What’s more, because Patient Access is a 24 hour online service – you can do this in your own time, day or night.
